  • Overview

    As the Foreign Material Exploitation Laboratory Support Technician at the Office of Naval Intelligence, you will be working on projects critical to the National Security of the United States and to development of systems and capabilities for the United States Navy. As part of an established team, you will be providing direct support to the Federal Government in identifying the capabilities of foreign military equipment, providing analysis and material support to ongoing projects.

    Primary Duties and Responsibilities

    • You will prepare and analyze material samples for identification and/or characterization. 
    • You will provide support to operation, maintenance, and calibration of material and diagnostic equipment to include: scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectrometer, optical microscopy, gas meters, HAZMAT ID/FTIR, radiation detection instruments, and other lab/material handling equipment. 
    • You will support technical examinations to disassemble and identify components and perform associated materials analysis. 
    • You will support material handling equipment (overhead crane, forklift, pallet jack, and stock picker) maintenance, repair, and inspections.

    Education and Experience Requirements

    Requirements:

    • Two (2) years of laboratory experience. 
    • Knowledge of and certification on equipment supported (scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive spectrometer, optical microscopy, gas meters, HAZMAT ID/FTIR, radiation detection instruments, and other lab/material handling equipment).
    • Required certifications (overhead crane (overhead category 2 / cab operated category 3), forklift (classes 1 /4 / 5) pallet jack (class 3), and stock picker (class 2). 
    • Must maintain a Top Secret clearance with access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI).

     

    Security Clearance

    • This position will require U.S. citizenship and an active TS/SCI security clearance.
