Support the execution of advanced development research and development (R&D) programs. 

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Support the execution of advanced development research and development (R&D) programs. Work with the customers to develop program objective, assess capability gaps, derive required operational capabilities, and integrated roadmaps.  Support the development of acquisition and technical documentation including, but not limited to statements of work,specifications and test plans. Serve as the operational total point for customer engagement and project management throughout the design, engineering, integration, test and program execution process.  Developexecute, monitor and report status of several assigned project task efforts.

Provide subject matter expertise and design advisory group insight on the utilization, operation, modeling and program design efforts for tactical aviation platforms. Provide evaluation of operational and developmental system simulation, design and test efforts and participate in the development and implementation of advanced system solutions. Develop and maintain deviation and discrepancy reports for test or simulations of interest, and work with engineering developmental staff to reduce those discrepancies. Work with operational subject matter experts currently involved in flight test, training and warfighting development to understand critical requirements design and simulation features that must be resented and evaluated.  Work with subject matter experts from various program offices to document and characterize the current and expected future performance of various tactical aviation systems,  and work with the customer to translate those into modeled and actual system performances.

Assist in the team project execution, coordination, risk management and adjudication of concerns and issues with program leadership, security and resource sponsors.  Coordinate functions between government and contractor project management (and their engineering staff) along with theoperational subject matter experts, warfighters, and military leaders involved in program planning and execution.

 Support and provide insight to determine the effectiveness of project execution and recommend modifications to task processes for future project activities or design reviews. Work with the Project Management and Task Lead(s) to develop out year planning for future capabilities, and provide input to roadmaps for analysis, risk reduction, development and integration of advanced capabilities.

Significant (30-50%) travel is required for this position. 

Education and Experience Requirements

Required Experience and Skills:

Education: Bachelors Degree from an accredited college or university. Experience cannot be substituted for education.

Experience: Candidate must have at least 10 years of a military background in tactical aviation systems, including the development and employment ofConcept of Operations (CONOPS)/Concept of employment (CONEMPS) for those systems.

Desired Experience and Skills

Candidate should be proficient in all Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).

(U)  Candidate should have demonstrated excellent oral and written communication skills.

(U)  Candidate should have some bsackground in the acquisition of military systems.

(U)  Candidate should have experience working in a dynamic, schedule constrained and complex security environment.

(U)  Candidate should have military experience coordinating operations across multiple organizationalboundaries.

Must have a current TS/SCI clearance
